See your users

See your app's users, paying customers, and newsletter subscribers matched into one list, with what is worth acting on, like failed payments.

Users brings together who uses each property: its app's own accounts, its paying customers, and its newsletter subscribers, matched into one list by email address. Every read here is live and checked against your permissions, since these are people's details, not stored numbers.

Three sources, matched by email

Users reads from up to three places per property, and shows each as connected or not at the top:

SourceWhat it gives
Your app's usersSignups and accounts, read from your app by the LopeBase Adapter.
Paying customersPlans, status, and who is cancelling, from your billing accounts (Stripe or Polar).
NewsletterSubscribers, tags, and unsubscribes, from your connected email tool.

A person who shows up in more than one source becomes one row, with whichever facts each source has: in the app or not, their plan and billing status if they pay, and their newsletter status and tags if they subscribe. With more than one property shown, each row also lists which properties that person belongs to.

Worth acting on

Above the full list, LopeBase calls out groups worth a direct action, each one only shown when its sources are connected:

  • Payments failed. Their card was declined; a short personal note usually gets it fixed before the subscription ends.
  • Cancelling at the end of the period. Still has access; worth asking what made them leave while there is still a chance to fix it.
  • New this week. A welcome from a real person in the first days is the cheapest way to keep them.
  • Paying customers not on the newsletter. Worth inviting in a receipt or onboarding email so they do not miss product news.
  • Subscribers who have not signed up. They like what you write but have not tried the product; worth a newsletter issue with a clear way to start.

Each card lists a few of the people it covers and a Copy button for every email address in the group, ready to paste into your mail tool.

Why does the people list say "No one with an email yet" when my app has users?

The LopeBase Adapter needs a users resource that reports an email for each account. Until it does, the app's user count still shows at the top; only the row-by-row list needs email addresses.

Why is the same person showing twice?

Rows are matched by email address, so the same person under two different addresses (a work email on billing, a personal one on the newsletter) will show as two rows until one source uses the matching address.

Why don't I see a "Worth acting on" card I expected, like cancellations?

Each card only appears once the sources behind it are connected. Cancelling and past-due cards need a billing connection; the newsletter cards need both the app and the newsletter connected.

Why does a paying customer show as "Free" here?

Only a subscription whose status counts as active, trialing, or past due counts as paying. A canceled or incomplete subscription shows as Free even if that person paid in the past.
