AI reviews and credits
How AI credits work in LopeBase, what uses them, how to see where they went, buy more, and bring your own AI key instead.
Writing an article, running an SEO audit, reviewing your revenue, and a few other features in LopeBase use AI. Most plans pay for that with AI credits: a credit costs one cent, and each AI run uses credits based on how much work the AI model did. You can also connect your own AI provider key and skip credits entirely.
What uses credits
Anything that asks an AI model to read your numbers or write something uses credits. That includes:
- Writing, rewriting, or improving an article draft (Content)
- The SEO audit, and suggestions like competitor finding or keyword cleanup
- The revenue, traffic, and incident reviews, and the weekly briefing
- Discussions searches, which look for where people talk about your product
- AI reports and pipeline steps that call AI
Reading your numbers on Overview, SEO, Analytics, Revenue, and Uptime never uses credits. Only the AI buttons do, and each one shows its estimated cost before you click it.
Runs keep going in the background
Once you start an AI run, an article draft, an audit, a review, or a pipeline, you can leave the page or close the tab. It keeps running and shows as running when you come back. When it finishes, a toast with a View button appears wherever you are in LopeBase, at the bottom right on a computer and above the tab bar on a phone, once per run. If you have LopeBase open in more than one tab, it shows once, in whichever tab you are looking at.
Your balance
Your plan includes a monthly allowance of credits that resets on the first of each month (UTC). See what is left any time:
Go to SettingsAI credits, or Open AI credits.
The page shows how many of your included credits are used this month, a daily chart of the last 30 days, and a breakdown of what each feature cost. For the full history, open Usage from the same page; it covers the last 90 days and links to what each run made.
Buying more
If you run out of included credits, buy a pack. Packs do not expire, and are spent only after your monthly allowance runs out.
On a trial? Subscribing to any paid plan before it ends adds 500 bonus credits once, automatically, on top of the plan's own allowance. See the trial for how it works.
Bring your own AI key
Connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic key and LopeBase stops using credits for your workspace entirely; every AI feature still works, billed straight to your own account instead.
Go to ManageConnections, or Connect your AI key.
Your key is stored encrypted and used only for your workspace's AI calls. See How LopeBase handles your data for how connection keys are stored.
Where to go next
- Plans, trial, and billing for how many credits each plan includes.
- Content for what an article actually costs to write.
- Connect Claude and other agents over MCP: an agent's drafts and topic searches use credits the same way.

Why did an AI button stop working
You are most likely out of credits for the month. The button's cost note says so, and Settings, AI credits shows your balance. Buy a pack, wait for next month's reset, or connect your own AI key.
Why does my estimate not match what I was charged
The estimate is a range shown before you run something. What you are charged comes from what the AI model actually used for that specific run, which can land anywhere in that range.
I connected my own key but credits are still being used
Check that the key is still connected and valid on Connections. If LopeBase cannot reach your key, it falls back to nothing rather than charging credits silently, so a run that used credits after you added a key usually means the key was not saved or was removed.
Do unused credits roll over
Your monthly allowance does not roll over; it resets to the plan's amount each month. Purchased packs are different: they carry over and are only spent after the monthly allowance is gone.
