LopeBase vs Semrush

Semrush is a marketing suite. Alongside SEO it sells toolkits for ads, local listings, social, content, PR, and visibility in AI answers, all drawing on its own keyword and backlink databases. LopeBase does one slice of that and adds what a marketing suite leaves out. It reads Search Console and Bing for every product you run, finds the searches and pages worth working on, and puts them next to each product's revenue, uptime, and errors.

A suite for marketers, or a console for operators

Semrush's home page lists nine solutions: Semrush One, SEO, AI Visibility, Traffic and Market, Content, Local, Advertising, AI PR, and Social. It is built for people whose whole job is marketing, often across many sites and clients. Its databases let you study any domain, which is what makes competitor and keyword research possible.

LopeBase is built for people whose job is running products, where search is one of several things that can go wrong this week. The SEO tab is thorough, but it sits next to the Revenue, Analytics, and Uptime screens for the same product. When search clicks fall, you can see on the same screen whether signups fell with them, whether the site was down, or whether a deploy broke the analytics tag.

The data underneath is different too. Semrush's position tracking checks results for the keywords you choose, every day. LopeBase reads where your site appeared for real searchers, as Google and Bing report it. A daily check is better for watching a fixed list closely. Search Console is better for finding the searches you did not know you were getting, because it lists the searches your site showed up for, apart from some that Google holds back for privacy.

How the pricing compares

Semrush's pricing page, checked October 2026, lists four SEO and AI search plans. SEO is $139 a month, or $117.33 a month billed yearly, with 5 sites to monitor and 500 keywords tracked daily. Starter is $199, or $165.17 yearly, and adds keyword research and competitor tools and MCP access. Pro+ is $299, or $248.17 yearly, with 15 sites, 1,500 keywords, historical data, and keyword cannibalization analysis. Advanced is $549, or $455.67 yearly, with 40 sites and 5,000 keywords. Extra users start at $45 a month. A free account has 10 reports a day across its main tools, and paid plans can be tried free for seven days.

LopeBase counts products, and every operator in the plan's limit is included. Free for one product. Studio is $29 a month for 3 products, Portfolio $99 for 10, and Agency $299 with no limit. That price covers SEO plus revenue, uptime, errors, and traffic for each product. The data it reads, Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, costs nothing.

Semrush's price buys databases that LopeBase does not have. If you need them, LopeBase is not a cheaper substitute. If you mostly use Semrush to watch your own rankings and run site audits, the gap is worth a look.

Where each one is stronger

Where Semrush is stronger

  • Research on any domainKeyword volume and difficulty, competitor rankings, and backlinks for sites you do not own.
  • Daily rank checksPosition Tracking every day, across locations and devices on Pro+.
  • More channelsToolkits for paid search, local listings, social, and PR, none of which LopeBase covers.
  • AI answer trackingPrompts tracked daily in AI assistants, with your brand's visibility and sentiment.
  • Data at scaleAPI access and higher limits on Advanced and Enterprise.

Where LopeBase is stronger

  • Numbers search engines reportClicks, impressions, and position from Search Console and Bing, not estimates.
  • The searches you already haveAn opportunity map of every search, with page two shaded, and your click rate at each position worked out from your own site.
  • Index and speed from GoogleIndex status from the URL Inspection API and Core Web Vitals from real Chrome visits.
  • One list across productsEvery product's search clicks and trend on one screen, then a click into any one.
  • Search next to the businessMRR, signups, uptime, and errors for the same product, so you can tell a search problem from a product problem.

Both tools check for pages that compete with each other for one search. LopeBase only flags it when each page takes at least a tenth of that search's impressions, so a stray result does not count, and it suggests merging the pages or making one the clear answer.

Which one to pick

Pick Semrush if

You are a marketer, consultant, or agency working across SEO, ads, local, and social, you need to research keywords and competitors, or you want to track how AI assistants talk about a brand.

Pick LopeBase if

You are a founder or small studio with several products, your search work is improving sites you own, and you want it in the same place as revenue, uptime, and errors.

Semrush is the better fit when SEO is a research problem. Entering a new market, sizing a topic before writing about it, or working out why a competitor outranks you all need data from outside your own site, and Semrush has a lot of it.

LopeBase is the better fit when SEO is an upkeep problem across several sites. Each week the questions repeat: did any product drop, which new posts got indexed, which page-two searches are close, which titles lose clicks. LopeBase answers them for every product in one pass, and the content autopilot can turn a page-two search into a planned article.

Using both

They work well side by side. Semrush's pricing page lists Google Analytics and Google Search Console integrations, so it can see some of the same first-party data. LopeBase reads those sources read-only too, so connecting both changes nothing in Google.

A practical split: research in Semrush, follow through in LopeBase. Pick target keywords in Semrush, then add them to LopeBase's Keywords tab, where each one gets Google's own position and 12 weeks of history from Search Console. See tracking rank over time. When a new page goes live, LopeBase's index check and audit tell you whether Google can list it.

If you use AI agents, LopeBase's SEO MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, or another client read the same Search Console, Bing, audit, and link data you see, read-only. The Search Console MCP page shows what an agent can ask.

To see LopeBase's view on your own data before connecting anything, try the Search Console analyzer on an export, or run the free SEO audit on any site.

Questions

Is LopeBase a Semrush alternative?

For watching and improving your own sites' search performance, yes. For keyword research, competitor research, ads, local, or social, no. LopeBase has no keyword database of its own.

Why does LopeBase not track rank every day?

It reads Search Console, which reports real searches about two days behind. That gives positions Google measured across every search, rather than a check of one results page per keyword.

Does LopeBase include Bing?

Yes. Bing Webmaster Tools data shows beside Search Console as its own row, and Bing's index also feeds answers in several AI assistants.

Does LopeBase track AI answers like Semrush's AI Visibility toolkit?

No. It checks whether AI search crawlers can read your site from your robots.txt, and it checks your llms.txt. It does not track prompts in AI assistants.

How many sites can I watch?

One product on the free plan, 3 on Studio, 10 on Portfolio, and no limit on Agency. Each product's search sources count as that one product.
