LopeBase vs Ahrefs
Ahrefs is an SEO platform built on its own crawler and web index. Type in any site or any keyword and it shows estimated traffic, rankings, and backlinks, whether or not the site is yours. LopeBase looks only at sites you own, through the data search engines report about them: Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, for every product you run, next to revenue and uptime. Many people need both, and LopeBase already shows each site's Ahrefs Domain Rating.

Two kinds of search data
Ahrefs crawls the web itself. That is why it can show you a competitor's top pages, the sites linking to them, and keywords you have never ranked for. Anything it shows about a site you do not own has to come from Ahrefs' own data, since that site's analytics are private. That outside view is the only way to look inside a competitor.
LopeBase reads first-party data. Search Console reports how often your site was actually seen and clicked, and where it ranked for real searchers. Bing reports the same for Bing. Nothing is estimated, which is why LopeBase does not show search volume or difficulty. The cost is reach: Search Console only knows about searches where your site appeared, so a keyword you have never shown up for has no position to show, and you cannot look inside a competitor's Search Console.
For a founder, the two answer different questions. "What should we try to rank for?" needs an index like Ahrefs. "Which of the searches we already get is worth an hour this week?" is better answered from your own data, and that is the one LopeBase is built around.
How the pricing compares
Ahrefs' pricing page, checked October 2026, lists Starter at $29 a month for seeing what people search and looking at competitors. Lite is $129 a month with one user, 5 projects, and 750 tracked keywords. Standard is $249 a month with 20 projects and 2,000 tracked keywords, and Advanced is $449 a month with 50 projects and 5,000. Enterprise is $1,499 a month with a yearly commitment. Paying yearly saves up to 17%, and extra users cost more on each plan. The page also says Ahrefs never runs discounts.
Ahrefs Free, which used to be called Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, is free for sites you verify. It includes Site Audit for over 170 technical and on-page issues, with 5,000 crawl credits per project a month, Site Explorer for your own site with up to 1,000 backlinks and keywords shown at once, and web analytics.
LopeBase counts products. Free for one product. Studio is $29 a month for 3 products, Portfolio $99 for 10, and Agency $299 with no limit. That covers SEO and everything else LopeBase does for each product. Search Console, Bing, and Chrome UX Report data are free to read. If you add DataForSEO for fuller backlinks, it charges your own account per check, and LopeBase adds nothing on top.
Where each one is stronger
Where Ahrefs is stronger
- Competitor researchSite Explorer shows any site's top pages, keywords, and backlinks. LopeBase cannot see inside a site you do not own.
- Keyword researchKeywords Explorer finds new searches to target. LopeBase only knows searches you already appear for.
- A full backlink indexAhrefs' own link index, built by its crawler. Bing's link API often returns nothing, and DataForSEO is the closest LopeBase gets.
- Deeper crawlsSite Audit takes up to 25,000 pages per project on Lite and more on higher plans. LopeBase's audit checks your home page and blog posts.
- Content and AI toolsContent Explorer for mentions and link prospects, and Brand Radar for visibility in AI assistants.
Where LopeBase is stronger
- Positions Google measuredRank from Search Console, weighted by impressions, the way Google computes it.
- Work, already sortedPage-two searches, pages seen but rarely clicked, and two pages competing for one search, sorted by how often they are seen.
- Every product on one listEach site's clicks and trend in one row, with Bing next to Google, not added to it.
- From finding to fixingCopy any finding as a prompt for your coding agent, or send a search to the content autopilot to plan an article.
- The rest of the productRevenue, uptime, errors, and traffic sit beside search, so a drop in clicks can be read against a drop in signups.
Ahrefs does offer first-party views too. Its GSC Insights tool reads your rankings from Google Search Console, and Ahrefs Free covers verified sites. The difference is what surrounds them. In Ahrefs, Search Console data sits inside a research platform. In LopeBase, it sits inside the console where you also watch the product's revenue and uptime.
Which one to pick
Pick Ahrefs if
SEO is a main growth channel and you need to research it: new keywords to target, what competitors rank for, and who links to them. Or you are an SEO professional working on sites you do not own.
Pick LopeBase if
You run several products, want each one's real search numbers checked every week, and would rather spend the hour fixing the page-two searches you already have than researching new ones.
Start freeA new product with no search traffic yet is a case for Ahrefs. With nothing in Search Console, LopeBase has little to work with, while Ahrefs can still show the searches that bring visitors to sites like yours.
A portfolio of products that already get some search traffic is a case for LopeBase. The biggest wins are usually in data you already own: a page sitting at position 12 for a search seen thousands of times, a title that loses clicks to the result below it, or two of your pages taking turns for the same search. LopeBase finds those for every product, every week, without a separate seat for each person who looks.
Using both
This pairing is common, and the jobs split cleanly. Use Ahrefs when you plan: which topics to go after, which competitor pages to study, and which sites to ask for links. Use LopeBase to follow through: whether the new page got indexed, whether it moved from page two to page one, and whether the clicks turned into signups.
You already get one piece of Ahrefs in LopeBase. The Links tab shows Domain Rating for your site and up to 5 competitors, checked weekly through LopeBase's own key, so you do not need an Ahrefs account for it. Track the keywords you found in Ahrefs on LopeBase's Keywords tab, and you will see Google's own position for each one, with 12 weeks of history from Search Console. See tracking rank over time.
For backlinks, LopeBase reads Bing and, if you connect it, DataForSEO, and lists sites that send you visitors. That is enough to watch new and lost links each week. For a full audit of a competitor's link profile, Ahrefs goes much deeper. See who links to you.

Questions
Something else? Contact us.
Is LopeBase an Ahrefs alternative?
For tracking and improving your own sites from Search Console and Bing, yes. For researching keywords and competitors, no. LopeBase has no web index of its own.
Do I need an Ahrefs account to see Domain Rating in LopeBase?
No. LopeBase reads Domain Rating for you and your competitors through its own key, once a week.
Why are LopeBase's positions different from Ahrefs Rank Tracker?
They measure different things. LopeBase shows Search Console's average position, across real searches, weighted by impressions. A rank tracker checks results for set searches on a schedule. Both can be right at once.
Does LopeBase show search volume?
No. Search volume and difficulty are estimates from third-party data, and they often disagree with each other. LopeBase shows impressions instead: how often your site was actually seen for each search.
Is Ahrefs Free enough instead of LopeBase?
For one site's audit and backlinks, it may be. LopeBase adds every product on one list, Bing beside Google, page-two and click-rate findings, and the revenue and uptime around them.
