LopeBase vs Better Stack

Better Stack is an observability platform: uptime monitors, heartbeats, on-call schedules, phone and SMS alerts, incident management, status pages, and logs and traces, all priced in parts. LopeBase is an ops console for people who run several SaaS products, with its own simple uptime checks. It also reads the Better Stack monitors you already run, so this is less a choice of one or the other than it looks.

Two different jobs

Better Stack is built for the moment something breaks. Its Uptime product checks from around the world, takes a screenshot of a site that is down, records the error an API returned, and runs traceroutes on timeouts. It then decides who to wake: escalation rules by time and team availability, with unlimited phone calls and SMS on paid seats. Related alerts are merged so one tap acknowledges them. Status pages tell customers what is going on, and its telemetry side holds the logs and traces you read while fixing it.

LopeBase is built for the rest of the day. It answers, for every product you run, whether it is up, what it earned, where its traffic came from, which errors are loudest, and what needs attention first. Uptime is one row in that picture. Its own checks are deliberately simple: a request to an address every 15 minutes, a year of history, alerts by email or push, and a free public status page.

So the honest comparison is narrow. If you are choosing an on-call and incident tool, LopeBase is not one, and Better Stack is a strong option. If you are choosing where to look each morning across several products, Better Stack does not show revenue, signups, or search, and LopeBase does.

How the pricing compares

Better Stack's pricing page, checked October 2026, lists a free tier it calls free for personal projects: 10 monitors and heartbeats, 1 status page, Slack and email alerts, plus small allowances for errors, logs, traces, and metrics. Paid use is built from parts. A responder seat is $34 a month, or $29 billed yearly, and comes with on-call scheduling and unlimited phone and SMS alerts. Each extra 50 monitors are $25 a month ($21 yearly), and each extra 10 heartbeats $20 ($17 yearly). Extra status pages are $15 a month ($12 yearly). Password protection is $50 per page a month, and white-label, SSO, and IP allowlisting are $250 per page a month each. Logs and traces are billed per GB, with prices that vary by region.

That model is fair for a team that needs on-call: you pay for the people who carry the pager, and for what you monitor.

LopeBase counts products. Free for one product. Studio is $29 a month for 3 products, Portfolio $99 for 10, and Agency $299 with no limit. Uptime checks, status pages, and the Better Stack connector are included on every plan. Using both costs you a Better Stack plan for monitoring and a LopeBase plan for everything around it.

Where each one is stronger

Where Better Stack is stronger

  • Being woken upOn-call schedules, escalation, and unlimited phone and SMS on paid seats.
  • Depth of checks30 second checks, mail server and DNS monitors, heartbeats, and real browser checks with Playwright.
  • EvidenceScreenshots of a down site, the error an API returned, and traceroutes on timeouts.
  • Logs and tracesIts own telemetry, so the fix can start in the same tool as the alert.
  • Status page controlsEmail subscribers, custom subdomains, password protection, and SSO as add-ons.

Where LopeBase is stronger

  • The whole productUptime beside MRR, traffic, signups, search, and errors, one row per product.
  • Service checks with your own keysThe adapter checks the database, queue, and payment provider with your app's credentials, so a check proves the integration works.
  • An incident reviewReads 30 days of checks with your top errors and says what to fix first, then drafts a note for customers.
  • Free status pagesOne per product on every plan, with branding on paid plans and no per-page add-ons.
  • Price by productNo seat to buy before you can see a product's health.

Using Better Stack and LopeBase together

If Better Stack already watches your products, you do not need to rebuild those monitors in LopeBase. The Better Stack connector reads them with an Uptime API token from Better Stack's settings. Here is what happens once it is connected:

  • You pick which monitors belong to each product. A product can have several, like its home page, API, and app.
  • Each monitor shows on the Uptime page's Monitors tab with its status and 30-day availability, incidents, and downtime from Better Stack's own report.
  • A monitor Better Stack reports as down shows under Needs attention for its product and alerts by email or browser push on LopeBase's next run, since Better Stack has already confirmed it.
  • If the token is revoked, the connection itself shows under Needs attention, so a gap in the numbers is never silent.

What it does not do matters too. LopeBase only reads. It never pauses, edits, or acknowledges anything in Better Stack, and it does not read Better Stack logs or incidents today. Your on-call rotation and phone alerts stay in Better Stack.

A product can have both a Better Stack monitor and a LopeBase check. A sensible split is Better Stack for the products and services that need fast paging, and LopeBase's own uptime checks for side projects and sites that would not justify a monitor there. If an app runs the LopeBase Adapter, its health address can also report each service behind it as its own row.

The setup steps are in Uptime checks and incidents, and status page options in Publish a status page.

Is LopeBase a Better Stack alternative?

Only for simple uptime checks and status pages. LopeBase has no on-call, no phone or SMS alerts, and no log storage, so for incident response Better Stack does far more.

Can LopeBase read my Better Stack monitors?

Yes. Connect an Uptime API token and pick the monitors for each product. LopeBase shows their status and 30-day availability and alerts when one is down.

Does connecting Better Stack change anything there?

No. LopeBase only reads monitors and their availability. It never pauses, edits, or acknowledges anything.

Does LopeBase read Better Stack logs or incidents?

Not yet. It reads Uptime monitors and their availability.

Should I run LopeBase checks on a site Better Stack already watches?

You can, and both show side by side. Most of the value is in covering the sites that have no monitor elsewhere.
